Bob Larkin: Amazing Spider-Man: Parallel Lives (reprint, 2012)

Republished in comic-book format last week by Marvel Comics, this 1989 graphic novel by Gerry Conway and artist Alex Saviuk tells the story of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson: how they met, how they fell in love, how they got married. It’s a nice, 64-page comic for the very reasonable price of $4.99.

But here’s my complaint: Bob’s name appears nowhere on the comic—not on the back cover, not on the reprinted title page (and there’s room below then-assistant editor Glenn Herdling’s name to have added it). It’s not as though they weren’t aware of the cover artist’s name—it was listed in the comic’s February 2012 solicitation copy!

So, come on, Marvel—how about a little credit-where-credit-is-due on the actual printed book?

Rant over. Now back to your regularly scheduled art blog…  ;-)
